Ibiza is one of Europe's most popular summer destinations. Known for its unbridled nightlife, it is also an island of choice for its beautiful landscapes, crystal-clear sea and ancient villages, which are much quieter and ideal for discovering local traditions. The choice of town or village to stay in is essential for a successful trip: for example, if you are travelling with your family, you certainly don't want to find yourself in the heart of the nightlife!
Ready to look for the perfect accommodation? Here are all our tips on where to stay in Ibiza.
Useful tips: the best neighbourhoods to stay in
The best area to stay in is the capital Ivissa, which is connected to the main beaches, attractions and the port. It is especially recommended if it is your first time visiting the island. Of course, it is also one of the busiest areas. In the interior of Ivissa, the area of Playa de Talamanca, which is quieter and more family-friendly, or Ses Figueretes, which is slightly cheaper, are worth a visit.
Of course, there are also other recommended towns besides Ivissa. For example, if you want to save money, the cheapest resort on the island is Sant Antoni de Portmany, which is also ideal for those in search of nightlife, as it is full of clubs and discos and close to some of the most beautiful beaches on the island!
On theother hand, if you are looking for tranquillity or travelling with your family, you should mainly move to the northern part of the island, with the resorts of Portinatx and Sant Eulalia!
Recommended areas to save money: Generally, the smaller and inland towns. If you want to stay in tourist areas, opt for Ses Figueretes in Ivissa or Sant Antoni de Portmany, which are slightly cheaper.
Recommended areas for families with children: generally the towns in the northern part such as Portinatx and Sant Eulalia. If you want to stay in Ivissa, opt for Playa de Talamanca.

Guide to areas of Ibiza
Ibiza, part of the Balearic Islands archipelago, covers 572 square kilometres and comprises five municipalities, the best known of which are Ivissa (the island's capital), Santa Eulalia and Sant Antoni de Portmany. Then there are the two municipalities of Sant Josep de sa Talaia (the largest municipality by extension) and Sant Joan de Labritja.
The maintowns are concentrated along the coasts, while inland there are mainly small villages. At the same time, the main hotel facilities and tourist services are located on the coast and in the vicinity of the most famous towns, while a few more traditional accommodations can be found in the other localities.
Areas to avoid: from a safety point of view, there are no places to avoid. From a tourist point of view, we advise against locations such as San Rafael, inland, with fewer services, attractions and a long way from the sea.
Ivissa
Ivissa is the economic and administrative capital of the island. Here you will be connected to the main attractions and resorts of Ibiza and are within walking distance of some of the most famous beaches, such as Playa d'en Bossa. In addition, the airport, the island's main port and you can lose yourself in the streets of Dalt Vila, the oldest part of Ibiza, are located here!
This is probably the best place to stay on the island! However, some clarifications must be made: if you have no budget limits and want to experience the nightlife that has made Ibiza so famous, then you can choose any area of the capital, especially the old town. If, on the other hand, you are looking for more tranquillity or are travelling with your family, opt for the Playa de Talamanca area, north-east of the old town. Finally, if you are on a tighter budget, you will mainly find offers and more affordable prices in the area of Ses Figueretes, south-west of the centre, between the Old Town and Playa d'en Bossa.
Average prices in the area range from around €50.00 for low-cost accommodation to €500.00 for high-budget solutions - compare the selection of the best accommodation on booking

Inland villages in Ibiza where to stay
So far we have mainly proposed seaside resorts, as in Ibiza it is one of the main attractions! Moreover, it is along the coast that the main towns are located, with all the best services, attractions and accommodation.
However, there are also several villages inland, where you can immerse yourself in the more traditional atmosphere of Ibiza! Here you will be completely surrounded by nature and the accommodation is mainly family-run. This experience is mainly recommended for those who want to relax, travel by car and are not particularly interested in beach life.
Let's take a look at the two main villages, with the capital Ivissa as a reference point:
Sant Josep de sa Talaia (13 km / 15 min): a small village in the south of Ibiza, with a quiet and relaxed lifestyle and wonderful views of the surroundings. Ideal for those who want to recharge their batteries - compare accommodation on booking
Sant Miquel de Balansat (18 km / 20 min): a pretty village in the north of Ibiza, whose centre is about 4 km from the coast. Here mass tourism has not yet arrived and Sant Miquel retains its traditional, quiet side - compare accommodations on booking
